Council reviewed and approved two public‑safety contracts. Staff noted city supplemental law‑enforcement grant streams (SLESF/COPS) and a current law-enforcement fund balance that can cover the small interim difference.
Council also approved an amendment for animal-shelter services, increasing the city’s contribution modestly (from $10,007.79 to $11,686). Staff warned that dog-license revenue (~$2,565 annually) covers only a fraction of shelter costs and suggested budget adjustments; council authorized the mayor to sign the amendment and directed staff to refine budget treatment.
