Blue Lake bike-park group offers $5,090 donation; city to accept on April 28

A representative of the Blue Lake Bike and Skatepark Collective told the City Council that the group raised $5,090.01 from the Mad Scramble race and presented a check to city staff for the bike-park fund.
"I have a check to give to the city, $5,090.01," the representative said, and read aloud a list of event sponsors including Mad River Old Crows, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Coast Central Credit Union, and local businesses.
City staff accepted the check physically and told the group that because the gift exceeds $5,000, formal acceptance must be placed on a future council agenda. "We'll have to put it on the next agenda for acceptance," a staff member said, and staff said they would put the item on the April 28 agenda and include the sponsor list in the staff memo.
The donation is intended for the city's bike-park fund; staff and the group exchanged brief thanks and invited the group to return for the formal acceptance agenda item.
