The newest project, Piper Way, opened with 50 senior units and the presenter cited a project cost of about $33,800,000 and an average resident income at that site of approximately $1,300 per month. The presenter invited council and the public to an open house on October 1 (10 a.m.–noon) at 3294 Piper Way.
Reverend Janet Chapman and other community members spoke in support of the long-term work, stressing that housing work is slow, incremental and requires partnerships among city staff, nonprofits and health agencies. Council asked clarifying questions about additional projects and CCH’s presence in other cities; the presenter said CCH is active in seven states and manages or owns 46 properties serving roughly 3,700 residents overall.
