The Office of Grants Management plans a March transition to a new grants-management platform (referred to in the hearing as "Una"). Murphy told the committee the procurement was approved through the IT commodity contract and implementation work is underway. "In March, that's going to be the full transition to the new platform," he said, adding the platform will support outgoing competitions, federal compliance reporting and award management so that documents and reporting are preserved when staff or partner personnel change.
Murphy said the platform will reduce reliance on SM Apply for award management and improve efficiencies for nonprofit subgrantees and county staff, including linking federal reporting and simplifying subaward compliance. The committee welcomed the change but asked OGM to ensure training and support for nonprofits as the new system rolls out in spring.
