Poulsbo authorizes staff to apply for boardwalk and parkland grants

Parks Director Jeff Osmick said staff will apply for up to $1,000,000 from the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALIA) for the boardwalk renovation; the grant requires a 50% local match. The council authorized the mayor to submit the ALIA application.
Council also approved filing a Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) application to seek reimbursement for one or both recently purchased parcels adjacent to the Poulsbo Events & Recreation Center. Osmick noted RCO rules restrict some post‑award uses and staff will confirm whether to pursue one or both parcels; council approved application authorization by roll call.
