Commissioners approve interlocal agreement letting Public Works support Asotin County Library; temporary road operator hire authorized

County Engineer Joshua Malkin presented an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement between Asotin County and the Asotin County Library that permits the Public Works Department to provide equipment and/or services to the library. Member Charles Whitman moved to approve the agreement; Vice-Chair Brian Shinn seconded and the motion carried.
Malkin also requested authorization to hire a Temporary Road Operator for up to 180 days to support Public Works needs. The board approved the temporary hire by motion. The authorization is limited to a 180-day term as stated in the agenda item and does not constitute a permanent position.
The two items were handled sequentially under the Public Works presentation and recorded as approved by the full board.
