Council hears staff warnings about Centre St. S condition; well repairs and generator replacement underway

City public works staff told the council on Jan. 13 that Centre St. S is due for a planned chip seal this summer but that declining pavement conditions may require a more permanent fix.
Adam Lyons reported he met with Theron Perry to assess Centre St. S and said the street’s condition suggests a solution beyond chip sealing should be discussed. Lyons also reported that repairs to Well 6 and replacement of the generator at Well 3 are in progress. Theron Perry told the council public works has been busy with street sweeping, refurbishing council tables, purchasing new mowers, ordering shop doors, and preparing to install new fencing along Burnham Estates. A water tank inspection and cleaning was scheduled.
The council did not take formal action on a specific repair project at the meeting; staff was asked to continue assessments and report back.
