Jefferson County appoints and swears in Melanie Smoot as county clerk

The board also approved hiring employee 744 for the Clerk position and authorized Treasurer Kristine Lund's request to cancel the credit card issued to former Clerk Colleen Poole and issue a new card to Melanie Smoot; the credit-card motion passed by unanimous roll call.
