Rich Bauer, the county recycling coordinator, presented the committee’s 2025 year-end report, saying the program generated $144,518 in revenue against $143,771 in expenses and finished the year 16.9% below the adopted budget of $168,012. He told the committee the program recorded 544 loads, of which 440 were hauled, with an average load weight of about 813 pounds, totaling 540 tons for the year.
Bauer provided additional operational detail: 42 loads went to La Crosse Milling (now hauled directly to Green Circle in La Crosse), the program handled 114 refrigerated appliances, collected 5,197 pounds of electronics and 5.95 tons of tires. He also noted a personnel change: "Tim not assisting at the recycling except to cover for vacations," reducing regular on-site help. The committee did not record a formal tally vote on the report; members discussed logistics and follow-up items for future meetings.
