A councilmember (Greg) asked whether the city has restrooms and drinking fountains that remain available year-round along long trail corridors, noting a 22-mile loop concept and the needs of users. Brian Tobin said Roe Park restrooms are open 12 months a year and that the city does not currently have frost-free drinking fountains in the system.
Greg asked staff to consider restroom and water access when planning long routes and the committee agreed these amenities should be factored into future designs. Staff said restroom updates are underway in select parks and that the complexity of winter-proof drinking fountains will be part of future considerations.
