The Lyon County Commission spent part of its July 31 action session hearing routine reports from commissioners and county staff and recognized an intern for National Intern Day.
Chairman Ken Duft reported on attendance at local events including the Friends of 4-H picnic, a shooting-range meeting, and the arena dedication to Roger Potter; Vice Chairman Chris Bartel and Commissioner Doug Peck likewise summarized recent meetings and upcoming events. County staff reports included Clerk Amie Jones noting RNR notices and a staffing change for minute-taking, County Counselor Molly Priest summarizing recent board and RDA meetings, and Controller Dan Williams briefly reporting on monthly sales tax (no figures included in the minutes).
The commission formally recognized Hallie Hardin with the minutes noting: "Thank you, Hallie, for all your hard work." During public comment, Shane Shivley of ESU invited commissioners to student welcome events on Aug. 13 and 14. The board then recessed for a short break before returning for presentations.
