"I spent 3 days out to the fairgrounds driving the golf cart for Human Rights Commission, and they want us back next year," the chair said, adding that flyers were distributed to attendees who were often unaware the commission existed. "For a lot of people didn't know, Michigan City had a human rights."
The chair said the fair appearance was a chance to educate the public about the commission’s role. Community engagement committee items were discussed briefly, including an upcoming "wine and sip" event contact; no formal outreach budget or next steps were adopted at the meeting.
