County planner presents draft 10‑year regional plan; Douglass urged to host public open house

Naomi Crimm, county planner, presented the draft Regional Comprehensive Plan update to the Douglass Township Planning Agency on Feb. 26, 2026. “This is a 10‑year plan update from 2015,” Crimm said, explaining the draft includes existing and future land‑use information, population and housing projections, and economic goals aimed at retaining and improving existing businesses.
Crimm told the agency that the draft contains employment‑trend data and identified strategic development sites; she said the plan must be adopted by all eight regional members to become official and that the process requires a 45‑day public comment period. She recommended the township host an open house this spring to present the updates to residents and solicit feedback. Agency members also noted the county plans to release guideline regulations for data centers; attendee Joshua Stouch expressed concern that those regulations might be “too restrictive.”
The agency did not take formal action on the draft at the meeting but agreed to include outreach in its calendar. Planning staff and county representatives will provide materials for the suggested open house and for the March workshop on revitalization scheduled for March 23, 2026.
