City awards 2026–27 road striping contract at $102,746 to Specialized Pavement Markings

Public Works Manager Mike Lund explained the county had previously done the work at lower cost but no longer has the capacity to do so. Councilmember Doug Taber made the motion; members approved by roll call. The contract covers mainline striping beyond the city forces' in-house capacities and is intended to preserve safety markings throughout the city.
Council discussion noted the increase in cost compared with historical county pricing but emphasized safety and the need to maintain visible lane markings and crosswalks.
