The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners voted on June 8 to add Rocky Wixom as a user in the county's Karpel case-management system and to approve a contract for his services as a contract deputy prosecutor.
Prosecutor Paul Butikofer introduced Wixom and told the Board that "the addition will cost includes a one-time setup fee of $2,250 and an annual user fee of $725." Commissioners approved the Karpel user addition by roll call. Butikofer then presented Resolution #2026-35 and a Professional Services and Independent Contractor Agreement naming Wixom as a contract deputy prosecutor at a rate of $5,000 per month; the Board adopted the resolution and approved the contract by unanimous roll-call votes.
Commissioner Clark read the resolution on the record before the Board voted. After formal approval, Wixom introduced himself and provided the Board a brief overview of his legal experience. The actions mark the county's immediate step to expand prosecutorial capacity and to provision necessary system access for case work.
