Claymont board authorizes treasury duties, payroll signatory, sets mileage rate and minimum wage

As part of organizational Items A–O, the board authorized the Treasurer to sign payroll/warrants, pay bills within permanent appropriations, invest interim funds, request advances from the county auditor, set interest distribution under R.C. 42.22, set mileage reimbursement at $.725 per mile and set minimum wage at $11.00 per hour.
During its Jan. 12 organizational meeting, the Claymont City Board of Education granted the Treasurer multiple financial authorities: to pay bills within Permanent Appropriations, to sign payroll and warrant checks, to request advances from the County Auditor and to invest interim funds. The board also directed that interest among funds be distributed in accordance with R.C. 42.22.
Separately, the board set the mileage reimbursement rate at the IRS rate of $.725 (72.5 cents) per mile and set the minimum wage at the federal rate of $11.00 per hour. Those policy decisions were adopted as part of a single motion approving Items A–O and carried by roll-call vote.
