Wilbraham OKs two-year extension for Stony Hill drainage work tied to Boston Road sidewalk plan

The Wilbraham Conservation Commission voted to issue a two-year extension of a Determination of Applicability for the Town of Wilbraham Department of Public Works to install an extension of a drainage pipe at 185 Stony Hill Road. Dena Grochmal, representing the Wilbraham DPW, told the commission the work is part of a wider sidewalk plan that will connect to Boston Road and that the town needs a permanent easement from an abutter for a portion of the pipe; the original determination was issued in 2023.
James Murphy made the motion to issue the two-year extension, seconded by James Coletta; commissioners Stoughton Smead, James Murphy, Robert McMaster and James Coletta voted in favor. The extension gives the town time to secure the easement before work proceeds; the DPW remains responsible for complying with any conditions tied to the original determination and for coordinating any required erosion controls or site protections prior to construction.
