Committee delays decision on temporary asphalt plant permit after public opposition

The Price County Land Use/UW-Extension Committee heard a public hearing on May 21 for American Asphalt of WI’s request to operate a temporary asphalt plant at N9510 E. Solberg Lake Road. Numerous written objections were read by county staff and multiple Town of Worcester residents testified in opposition.
Representatives from American Asphalt—Matt Eslinger and Tristen Gardener of Mosinee—spoke in favor of the permit and addressed residents’ concerns. After discussion, the committee approved Motion Drobnik/Ulrich to postpone the decision to the June meeting to allow staff time to process comments and consider permit conditions. The motion carried.
