City Manager Mr. Westendorf told Council that WRDA legislation has advanced out of House and Senate committees and the current language authorizes a study of the Riverway project but does not provide construction funding. He said if the project later receives funding, the local match is expected to range between 20% and 50%, though Keller Partners is assisting the City in pursuing potential waivers of the local match requirement.
Mr. Westendorf said Keller Partners has been helping with federal grant applications, congressionally directed spending requests for FY 2027 and federal legislative advocacy. He noted additional discussion about Riverway funding and waiver opportunities is likely during the Citys Washington, D.C. trip in September as part of the Warren County DC Fly-In.
