The Manistee County Ways & Means Committee reviewed claiming summaries for Feb. 1–28, 2026, and on-demand and ACH payments and recommended the full Board accept $1,878,594.39 in checks, bills and payroll. Susan Zielinski, the county finance officer, presented the summary of funds and payroll totals during the committee meeting on March 4.
The committee examined a fund-by-fund breakdown included in Appendix A (the claims report), which showed major line items such as the General Fund checks and ACH payments of $326,047.14 and total payroll for Feb. ($669,211.44). After discussion the committee moved — and the motion was seconded — to recommend acceptance and place the documents on file. The minutes record: "Moved by Schmidt, seconded by Gustad to recommend the approval of the on-demand checks, bills and payroll, be accepted in the amount of $1,878,594.39; and that the same be placed on file. Ayes: All. Absent: Dontz. Motion Carried."
The committee did not take final action to pay or authorize payment itself; it recommended the full Board review and accept the reporting and disbursements at the next Board meeting. The claims report and payroll listings were provided as Appendix A to the meeting packet and include detailed vendor and fund-level postings.
