Public works details heavy snow response; marshal reports staffing change

Dustin McClain, public works, told trustees the town received about 29–30 inches of snow last month and crews plowed on roughly ten separate occasions; staff also performed equipment maintenance (fuel lines, brake lines, conveyor chain and bearings) and completed an emissions test and registration for a new dump truck nicknamed 'Gertie.' McClain said the parks crew shut a diverter to prepare an ice surface for skating and that staff are doing biweekly trash and dog-station pickups for the slower season.
The marshal (speaker 10) reported 30 calls for service last month, mutual assistance with other agencies twice in each direction, completion of reporting, recertification as a Colorado Scribe Information Center coordinator, and announced Deputy Ball has accepted a position with the Rio Grande County Sheriff's Office. Trustees and staff extended their thanks to Deputy Ball.
