Mental Health director proposes partial move into vacant Public/Mental Health Building space

Deputy Superintendent Scott Kolczynski presented findings from a space study showing vacant space on the second floor of the Public/Mental Health Building. Mental Health Director Sharon MacDougall told the committee she would like to occupy part of that area to accommodate changes in her program and to meet growing demand for services.
Kolczynski said the move would require only minimal Buildings and Grounds work and that Public Works had no concerns; he and other department representatives said both the Public Health Department and the Aging & Youth Department support the proposed partial reallocation. The committee agreed to move forward with the plan; no formal contract or capital expenditure was recorded in the minutes.
The proposed reallocation is intended to expand mental health program space using existing county-owned building capacity. Committee members requested coordination with Buildings and Grounds for any required minor improvements prior to occupation.
