Vice Mayor highlights Greek, Italian festivals; transit system marks 50 years with free rides

Vice Mayor Jerry Sklavanakis told the council the Greek festival will run Wednesday–Friday on Chaplin Street at Saint John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church and that the Italian festival starts Friday at Heritage Port. Speaking to the council he said, "The Greek festival is right down Chaplin Street at the Saint John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church." He encouraged council members and residents to attend.
City Manager Herron noted that the East Ohio Regional Transit Authority is celebrating its 50th anniversary and that a customer appreciation day on Saturday, July 25, will offer free rides and giveaways. Herron invited riders downtown to use public transit saying people can "ride all day long for free."
