Council narrows ballot language, swaps 'downtown' for 'community' and 'storm drains' for 'infrastructure'

Council members moved and approved an amendment to the ballot language that broadened the scope of revitalization and replaced a specific line item. The motion struck the phrase "storm drains," inserted "community" before "revitalization" (replacing "downtown"), and replaced the second occurrence of "storm drains" with "infrastructure."
The amendment sponsor said "Revitalization is super bag[sic], and I think a lot of people are gonna look at that and what is what does that mean." A colleague seconded the amendment and council members discussed local assets outside the downtown core as examples of what the revised language should cover. The council approved the amendment by voice vote prior to the final motion to adopt the resolution that places the tax on the ballot.
