Trustees approved staff's recommendation to contract Spalding de Decker for engineering and bidding services for a third pressure-reducing valve (PRV #3) near the water plant. Staff said adding the valve will improve flow and reduce pressure spikes near the fire department area; the engineering-to-bid cost was stated at $34,800 and would be paid with bond funds.
"I'll move to approve the Spalding Dedektor Spalding Dedektor to proceed with the design and bid engineering for the proposed pressure reducing valve PRB number 3 at a cost not to exceed 34,800," a trustee moved during the meeting. Board members confirmed the project is smaller in scope than the tower project, but important for stabilizing system pressure and flow. The motion carried on a voice vote.
