District details summer construction: Rustic Lane interim housing, Mira Loma roof replacements and campus upgrades

Paula Ford gave a detailed facilities and construction report at the July 28 meeting, outlining temporary and longer-term work completed over the summer to prepare campuses for the 2026–27 year. "We have 18 portable classrooms and 2 portable restroom buildings that have been delivered. They've been installed. They've been painted to match the Pacific Avenue campus, and they're and they have been turned over to the district from our construction crews turned over to the district for occupancy," Ford said, describing the Rustic Lane interim housing at Pacific Avenue.
Ford outlined additional work: portable office spaces installed for Rustic Lane staff, enhancements to outdoor kindergarten play areas, Pacific Avenue library repairs and a new student queuing platform off Saxon Court to improve dismissal safety, coordination with city traffic work at Pacific Avenue and 45th to ensure safe crossings for students, and major site work at the Rustic Lane modernization project (including underground storm-drain installation). She also said maintenance and operations completed roof replacements at Mira Loma and rehabbed underused portables for an engineering program there.
Board members praised the maintenance and operations teams and the district's planning-and-development staff for completing preventive HVAC maintenance, field restorations, and other summer projects that aim to have campuses ready for students' return.
