Committee chairs updated the commission on recent committee work.
The traffic committee reported it reviewed proposals including a recommended traffic signal at Marguerite Parkway and La Sierra; after community input the committee declined the signal at this time and instead will pursue alternative calming measures for left and right turns. The committee also reviewed a request for a four‑way stop at Avenida Kalita but found it was not warranted; staff did stripe changes in response to the concern.
The design review committee summarized its recent review of a proposed medical building at Crown Center (Center Street) adjacent to Home Depot and a planned parking structure behind the repositioned building; the applicant will return in March. Committee members raised questions about traffic, parking and trash enclosure design. A future design review will also consider a new gas station/Costco fuel site with ongoing discussion about an associated car wash (no car wash currently proposed).
