Worcester State highlights 100% NCLEX pass rate and role in training local nurses

President Barry Maloney told the audience that the incoming student GPA is 3.97 and that this year the program achieved a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX licensure exam. He said roughly 40% of nursing students identify as BIPOC and that the program graduates about 50 to 60 bachelor-trained nurses each year. "When we recruit students, we are recruiting the brightest and best across the Commonwealth," Maloney said.
Maloney also thanked trustees and faculty, noted the Lillian R. Goodman Department of Nursing's history at Worcester State, and described recent campus investments in simulation mannequins and an auditory lab that helped train students and serve the community. He framed the university as a partner to state funding efforts designed to expand health-care workforce capacity.
