The Hammond City Redevelopment Commission approved a license and agreement on Aug. 4 allowing Dean's Pool and Landscaping to stage materials on a redevelopment-owned parcel at 6538 Calumet Avenue while performing landscaping on a nearby residential site.
"The period of construction for this job is July 22 through mid August," Miss Taylor told commissioners during her presentation. Staff explained the staging was for materials related to landscaping work on an adjacent Jefferson Street property and said the commission has approved similar short-term staging agreements in the past.
A commissioner moved to approve the license and agreement and a second was recorded; the motion passed by roll call with five yes votes. Staff said the agreement would allow the contractor to store materials on the redevelopment parcel only for the time specified in the agreement and that the usual site-staging conditions will apply.
The action was described as routine and tied to an active residential project in the redevelopment area; staff will finalize the license paperwork following the vote.
