Ernest Strickland, representing the Black business pillar, told the committee the ad hoc will publicly launch an industry training and entrepreneurship program at Epicenter on Feb. 10 and will begin the first sector-specific training for music and entertainment on Feb. 19 with Adaptive Music.
"We're launching our official launch of the industry training entrepreneurship program, at Epicenter on February 10," Strickland said, outlining partner roles for music, telecommunications and construction sectors. He said the program includes readiness audits for artists, technical- assistance partnerships and training designed for both entrepreneurs and workers seeking employment in those sectors.
Strickland also described a parallel effort to restore a Black business directory and to secure partner databases for a February rollout. The committee encouraged invitations to county commissioners and city council members to increase visibility and cross-jurisdictional support for training opportunities.
