Griffin & Strong: data collection complete for Regional 1 Health disparity study; draft due July

Griffin & Strong project manager Hannah Rowell told the Shelby County Inclusive Economic Development Committee that the firm has completed data collection for Regional 1 Health and is moving into analysis and findings. "We have completed our data collection for Regional 1 Health," Rowell said, adding that the team has finished a case-law review that is in revision and will move next into utilization, availability and disparity analysis.
Rowell outlined the community outreach timeline: anecdotal interviews are wrapping up at the end of the month, a business-owner survey will close in mid-February, community meetings are scheduled for Feb. 4 and Feb. 6 (virtual), focus groups are planned for the third week of February, and the team expects a draft report in July with study closeout in August. Michelle Clark Jenkins, director of methodology and research for Griffin & Strong, explained the sample frame and said lists were pulled from certification, registration and vendor files including Shelby County certification lists and Regional 1's GPO vendor list.
The committee asked how organizational interviews are selected; Clark said the team draws random samples from government and certification lists and engages local trade and civic organizations to broaden outreach. Chair Brooks asked that Griffin & Strong send meeting and outreach details to the county commission so members can share notices with district businesses. Turner and committee members said they expect the firm to return with additional details at the committee meeting on Feb. 20.
