Board approves HVAC maintenance, monitoring agreement to reduce system failures and provide training

Facilities staff recommended a multi-year HVAC maintenance and monitoring agreement with the regional Daikin supplier after ongoing issues and a lightning strike damaged equipment last summer. Superintendent Doug said the proposal includes an initial setup and software integration that will allow remote monitoring and earlier detection of compressor and thermostat issues.
Doug described the program benefits: scheduled annual and quarterly visits, remote diagnostics, and training opportunities for district staff to better operate and maintain systems. The board moved to approve the two-year maintenance agreement and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the first-year cost is approximately $22,000 and the second-year charge is approximately $16,000, and that vendors will provide on-site troubleshooting and software training.
