Reagan Mort, principal of JE Rhodes Elementary, presented a campus accountability snapshot and a three‑part action plan focused on early literacy.
"We're really proud of the early progress we're seeing in kindergarten and 1st grade," Mort said, citing gains on beginning‑of‑year assessments and Bluebonnet math checks. Mort said the campus is targeting an 85% benchmark rate in reading by strengthening Tier 1 instruction, implementing earlier and more targeted Tier 2 interventions, and instituting consistent schoolwide progress monitoring to identify and move students faster.
Mort told the board that walk‑throughs and coaching are being used to sustain fidelity to instructional materials and that campus staff are already implementing targeted supports. The presentation was informational; no formal board action was recorded in the transcript.
