High school rear fencing, temporary egress and elementary design work outlined
Summary
Board heard that fencing at the high-school rear will be adjusted before school starts, a regular entrance will be closed for about a year with a temporary in/out path created through classroom corridors, and elementary school bid pack 4 remains in design and estimating.
A staff member told board members that bid pack 3 work at the back of the high school has resulted in new fencing that temporarily encroaches into bus areas and that the affected entrance will be closed for about a year. The district will open a temporary egress through the art, wood-shop and robotics hallway and install a sidewalk and an additional door card reader to manage arrival and dismissal flows.
The staff member said bid pack 4—work at the elementary school—is still in the design and estimating phase and that there is nothing to report on construction yet. Elementary classroom furniture has been fully installed and functioning since the last meeting, the staff member added.
