Union County names Kimberly Matnos Matlos Telecommunicator of the Year

The Union County Board of County Commissioners presented a proclamation to Kimberly Matnos Matlos recognizing her as Telecommunicator of the Year for her work as a 9‑1‑1 training supervisor and Crisis Intervention Team coordinator. The chair introduced Matnos Matlos and described her two-plus decades of frontline emergency communications experience.
"Children need to be heard," Matnos Matlos said in brief remarks about her work and her children's book, My Big Feelings, which she described as a tool for parents and children to process emotions. The board thanked her and her department for work responding to critical incidents and for training dispatchers and first responders to de‑escalate crises.
