Resident warns council about homeowners losing coverage after small claims

"This is an outrage," Zinman said, asking the council to use its convening power to press insurers for clarity and to explore options for affected residents. The mayor acknowledged the city’s limited direct authority over insurance companies but said council members Bucknam and Kelly are part of an ad hoc committee studying the issue and that staff will pursue meetings with elected officials and peers to learn from other communities’ experiences.
