County Clerk Cindy Doolittle informed the council she has a vendor quote to replace election equipment and will schedule a future discussion. She said the quote is essentially unchanged from last year and is "just under $287,000." Doolittle said the ideal timing would be to have the new equipment in place for the 2028 presidential election, though the county could manage for the next election cycle.
Doolittle asked the council to consider the timing and funding for replacement machines because parts are no longer being manufactured. She plans to bring additional staff (Jessica and Michael) to the next meeting to answer technical or procurement questions and to present options for financing the purchase.
