Public Works Director Glen Kennedy briefed the council on results of an RFP for solid‑waste services, saying the City received proposals from Waste Management, Republic Services and ACE Disposal. An evaluation committee reviewed non‑price factors first and then considered pricing; staff concluded ACE Disposal was the preferred vendor for the contract beginning July 1, 2025.
Kennedy presented the fiscal impact: "$971,527 the first year with annual increases based on the U.S. Department of Labor Consumer Price Index - West Region," he said. Council Member Paul Glover asked about aging bins; Kennedy said residents can call ACE and request a replacement and suggested the city should publicize the replacement process. The council did not take a final contract vote at this meeting but discussed next steps and resident outreach.
