A resident, Camden, asked the council whether there was more information about upcoming regulations and the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting concerning data centers. City staff said the appropriate forum is the Planning & Zoning meeting next Monday at 5:30 p.m., which will include six ordinances related to data centers, a Bluestem Trail rezoning to R3 for recently annexed property, and a plat requiring action.
"We have no information at this meeting on data centers," the mayor said; staff explained the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting is a public hearing and will be the first opportunity for detailed discussion. Cindy Game later confirmed the August 10 meeting is a public hearing and suggested using a larger room because the item may draw significant attendance.
