Selectmen accept memorial donations and review personnel hires and recruitments

Personnel Administrator Ray Legasse presented the hiring report. He said Suellen Kamara joined as executive assistant to the First Selectman on July 6 and that Caroline Krishner started as a part‑time library circulation assistant on July 15. Two full‑time police candidates have accepted offers and are undergoing background checks and polygraphs; Ray said those background processes typically take two to three months. He also listed open recruitments for full‑ and part‑time police, a part‑time assistant animal control officer, and part‑time custodians, and said the town will begin advertising for an IT technician and other positions once recent budget approvals are in place.
The board thanked community donors for memorial gifts and noted the library and senior center will use the funds for program support. The personnel report highlighted the town’s active recruitment needs and the timeline for vetting new police hires.
