Toms River students honored for academics, STEM and athletics at board meeting

Student representatives from Toms River High School East, North and South recapped school events and achievements. Ryan Macom (High School East) highlighted a "Kindness Campaign," a class activity to build listening skills and a drive that collected 900 pairs of socks for local shelters. "We are so proud of all of our teams," Macom said when listing athletic accomplishments.
District staff presented academic and extracurricular awards: Dave Correll announced that Grace Rhine received perfect section scores of 36 on the ACT reading and science sections; ASR directors recognized students selected for PERI outreach and the Governor STEM Scholars program. The board concluded the awards portion of the evening before moving to business items.
