Committee recommends Dec. 31, 2026 appointment end date for District 5 and Jan. 1, 2027 start for elected term

The committee reviewed timing for filling the District 5 supervisor vacancy and recommended the appointed term end Dec. 31, 2026 and the special-election office start date for the elected supervisor be Jan. 1, 2027. Jordan Spacek moved the recommendation; Larry Palecek seconded and the motion carried.
Clerk staff reported the County Clerk’s Office has worked with the Wisconsin Elections Commission on notices for the vacancy appointment and special election and that the vacancy notice included a Dec. 31, 2026 end date pending board approval.
