The City Council voted unanimously to accept and file the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
A finance committee representative said the general fund is "fairly strong," marking one of the best audit results the city has seen, and commended the finance director for an audit with no findings. The same report noted that three enterprise funds — sewer, solid waste and the airport — returned negative results for the audited year and remain areas of concern.
Councilors discussed next steps: a budget amendment to reflect increased revenues will be prepared in coordination with the June budget adoption and the finance committee will continue to evaluate enterprise fund strategies. The motion to accept and file the audit passed unanimously.
