The Dunsmuir City Council voted unanimously to approve a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) subrecipient agreement with Great Northern Services to administer a housing rehabilitation program that would be implemented if the city’s grant application is successful.
Staff described the agreement as the same scope presented earlier this year and said Great Northern Services would conduct outreach and project administration if awarded funding. One council member moved to approve the agreement for an amount not to exceed $125,000 and laid out the program as a conditional step pending funding.
Council members discussed prior unsuccessful grant timing and asked staff about technical assistance and scoring in future rounds. City staff said prior submissions were affected by first‑come, first‑served timelines and that future rounds will be competitive; staff offered to consult state representatives for scoring guidance. The motion passed unanimously by roll call.
