District pledges extra coaching, TOSA support for Orange Glen High School

As part of the district’s eight-point math improvement plan, staff singled out Orange Glen High School for enhanced supports next year: an additional math coach dedicated to classroom support and a teacher-on-special-assignment focused on Math 3, the year students take CAASPP. Kelly Grigsby said the change responds to site-specific performance and is intended to strengthen instruction and targeted interventions.
Griselda Resendiz, an Orange Glen instructional coach in the room, told trustees that the site has faced high teacher turnover and that stability plus additional collaboration time with site teachers could make a material difference. "Having stability this year has felt like a little closer," Resendiz said, noting the site has been hiring and that consistent veteran teachers returning to the district have expanded the applicant pool.
