Oxford City commission elects Andy Phillips as new chair

The commission elected Andy Phillips as its new chair after the outgoing chair opened nominations and formally put Phillips forward.
"I'm gonna nominate Andy Phillips," the outgoing chair said, and a second was recorded before the commission voted in favor of the nomination. The commission did not record any opposition during the voice vote.
The election follows standard procedure for the body; commissioners then moved on to agenda items including training requirements and two certificates of appropriateness for downtown storefronts. Meeting minutes from April were also approved earlier in the session.
