Chair outlines DARE curriculum outreach; UW Extension hire may support criminal-justice coordination

Chair Todd Skarban told the committee he plans to meet with area school superintendents to discuss the DARE program and begin work on developing a new curriculum after those meetings. Richard Heath reported that the UW Extension Office has hired a new Area Extension Director for the four-county area who has experience working with a Criminal Justice Coordination Council; Heath observed Oconto County's Criminal Justice Coordination Council meets once per year and has not been active in establishing programming.
Skarban also suggested issuing another press release to inform the public about the work the committee has supported to date. The committee set its next meeting for April 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
