The San Patricio County commissioners court unanimously approved acceptance of a $50,000 donation from Cheniere to help fund the county master parks plan.
"This is a collaborative effort that working with Kimberly and the parks department," a county grant manager said when presenting the item. Staff said prior grants had funding caps and the Cheniere funds will help complete the master plan and enable the county to seek additional money.
A county resident representing Cheniere thanked the court for the opportunity to support local parks. The court approved the grant acceptance by voice vote.
The donation will be recorded in county grant accounting and staff said they will pursue additional funding to continue parks improvements.
