Facilities master plan update: students prioritized safety and aquatics; community survey underway

Kristen Rose summarized the facilities master-planning process, saying assessment teams completed detailed building-system reviews and that engagement included leadership visioning workshops, site teams, student user groups, and a community survey (about 353 respondents at the time reported).
Rose said student priorities emphasized safety and functional infrastructure (restrooms, air conditioning), flexible and collaborative classroom spaces, student support areas, outdoor learning, and, among athletic spaces, aquatics as the top priority followed by gyms and ancillary support spaces. She told trustees the next steps are to finalize scopes of work and cost estimates and present a draft implementation plan for detailed board review and eventual adoption.
