City acquires 'triangle' parcel; council hears BMX park, parking and zoning questions

Kevin (city staff) told the council that the 'triangle' parcel is now in the city's name but remains inside the Herriman City boundary. "The triangle piece is now officially in the city's name. It is not in the boundary of the city. It's in the boundary of Harriman City," he said, and noted prior conversations with Herriman about keeping the parcel as open space or park land.
Council members asked about the parcel's current zoning (staff said it is zoned residential in Herriman) and logistics for visitor access. A staff participant noted there is parking at the north end at Mountain View Park but no restroom currently on site. Council member Perucci said he would like to see a BMX-park concept explored and thanked UDOT staff for prior help; Kevin suggested the city could pursue TRCC funding and add feasibility and cost analysis to the long-range plan.
Council members raised options for regional partnerships, possible county involvement, and rezone coordination with Herriman before any construction. Staff will prepare feasibility, costing and funding-path recommendations for a future strategic/budget discussion.
